Frequently Asked Questions
Experience & Courses
Do I need previous freediving experience?
All levels are welcome. Whether you're a beginner taking your first breath-hold or an experienced diver refining technique, we tailor coaching and courses to meet you where you are. However, for the day trips, a Level 1 freediving certificate is required.
Can I take a freediving course during the retreat?
Yes! You have the option to complete a full freediving course during the retreat. Our experienced instructors will guide you every step of the way.
What’s included in the freediving courses?
Each freediving course includes comprehensive theory sessions covering breathing techniques, safety protocols, and freediving physiology, followed by water sessions focused on depth progression and equalization skills. All training is guided by experienced instructors offering one-on-one feedback. Gear rental (mask, snorkel, fins, wetsuit, and weight belt) and light refreshments are included. A certification is awarded upon successful completion. Please note that accommodation and transportation are not included.
Packages
What’s included in the day trip package?
The day trip includes transportation from the meeting point, freediving sessions, full gear rental (if needed), lunch, and light snacks. Accommodation is not included and must be arranged separately.
What’s included in the retreat package?
The retreat includes daily coaching sessions, workshops, yoga, meditation, pranayama, strength training, all scheduled dives, basic gear rental, and daily breakfast and lunch (except on the rest day). Accommodation is not included. Transportation is available on retreat days only.
Logistics & Preparation
What should I bring?
Bring swimwear, sun protection, a reusable water bottle, a towel, light clothing, mosquito repellent, and your dive certification card if you have one. If you own personal freediving gear, feel free to bring that too.
Do I need my passport with me?
At the time of booking, we will require your passport number, date of birth, nationality, and full name (as it appears in your passport). For retreats, accommodations will ask to see your passport upon arrival.
Do I need to have insurance?
We recommend that all participants have personal travel and health insurance. Many policies cover diving activities, so please check the details of your plan. While our training is covered by insurance, having your own policy is strongly advised.
Food & Comfort
I’m a vegetarian/vegan. Will the food on the retreat be suitable for me?
Yes, absolutely. We ask about dietary preferences when you book. The cook provides vegetarian or vegan meals when requested, and there are always plenty of vegetables and fruits at each meal.
Will there be mosquitoes?
Mosquito repellent is recommended, especially during retreats in forested or garden settings where mosquitoes are more common. Fortunately, they are rarely an issue while out on the boats.
Is there phone coverage on the boats?
Yes, although coverage can be limited or unstable in some areas due to natural surroundings. We encourage you to embrace the opportunity for a digital detox and enjoy full immersion in your freediving experience.
